About

New owners John Paul DeJoria Investments partnered with us to develop a new brand narrative and identity for this nearly 40-year-old property that blended natural beauty in an urban setting.

Inspiration

I am a huge fan of the architect Mies van der Rohe as well as his grandson Dirk Lohan who worked under him and was the architect on this property. It was easy for me to find inspiration. From the the low red brick structures that almost seem to be a part of the natural landscape, the wooded undisturbed streams, paths, and waterfalls that give off a park-like setting — it feels more like a community village than a place of work.

Solution

The logo came to me almost instantly. I used the architecture to create a simple structure that mimicked the building along with a simplified leaf shape that can also be interpreted as the rivers and streams. It wasn’t hard for the clients to decide on the logo because they were drawn to how simply it honored the property and experience.
